Our beginner courses will teach you everything you need to know about climbing techniques and terms, equipment, and safety. To get you started, below is a list of some basic climbing terms, followed by some of the physical and mental benefits climbing provides. See you on the wall!
A few climbing terms:

Belaying – Securing a climbing rope with tension so that you support your partner as she/he climbs up the wall

Belay check – For safety purposes, Cliffhanger evaluates your competency (knot-tying and use of equipment) after you’ve learned to belay

Bouldering – Climbing a wall without using ropes or a harness

Climbing hold – Attached to the wall, this is what you’ll grab on to and use as a grip so that you can pull yourself up

Partner check – The climber and the belayer check each other’s equipment for safety
